Outgoing president Alain Rousset (PS) was reelected quite clearly on Sunday evening for a fifth term with around 39.3% of the vote, according to initial estimates. If this score is confirmed, he would obtain an absolute majority and could do without the allies on his list (PCF and PRG).

The Greens win a few representatives in the chamber but go into the opposition they want “constructive”, book Monique de Marco, environmental senator from the Gironde. She believes that the group led by Nicolas Thierry should play a role of “ecological spur”.
