Soccer Bundesliga: Frankfurt saves point against Leipzig

Eintracht Frankfurt was heading for a home defeat against RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga for a long time – in the end Tuta saved a point with the last action of the game of Eintracht.

After the 1: 1 (0: 1) against Leipzig on Saturday (30.10.2021), Eintracht Frankfurt is now three points ahead of the relegation place with nine points. Leipzig cannot catch up with the top group and remains in eighth place.

“Actually we played a decent away game. Only not in the last 30 seconds,” said Leipzig goalscorer Yussuf Poulsen Sky. But he also criticized the fact that “in the last scene not everyone ran back properly”. This is exactly what his coach Jesse Marsch criticized: “It’s amazing, we had everything under control. But the strikers missed a lot of chances and we make too many mistakes.”

Wrong decision helps Leipzig to take the lead

In a tactical game, Frankfurt was initially well in the game, Filip Kostic hit the crossbar with a failed cross (18th minute).

But then the Leipzigers benefited from a wrong decision. RB was awarded a corner, although Gvardiol was last on the ball. The result: Szoboszlai brought the corner into the penalty area, where Willi Orban extended the cross. Leipzig welcomes Paris, Frankfurt to Piraeus

RB Leipzig will host the Champions League Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday (November 3rd, 2021). Eintracht Frankfurt is also used internationally. On Thursday (November 4th, 2021) Eintracht will play at Olympiacos Piraeus.

In the Bundesliga, Leipzig will continue on Saturday (November 6th, 2021) with the home game against Borussia Dortmund. One day later, Frankfurt is in action against Greuther Fürth.
