The snow cannons are running in the Harz Mountains
Temperatures in the Harz Mountains are still around freezing. Here, lift operators put the first snow cannons into operation. Slope and lift operators are happy about the nightly sub-zero temperatures in the low mountain range, as the winter season in the Harz has been rather modest so far. In addition to the snow cannons, real snow should also ensure white slopes at the weekend: According to a meteorologist from the German Weather Service, two to five centimeters of fresh snow are possible.
