Four people were fatally injured in accidents on Bavaria’s roads. At least 91 accidents occurred on the night of Saturday on snow-covered roads, in which people were slightly injured.
A first fatal accident occurred on Friday afternoon at Penzberg (Weilheim-Schongau district). The couple’s car collided head-on with a van, police said. The two 71 and 74-year-old inmates reportedly sustained fatal injuries. An eight-year-old child in the couple’s car was slightly injured, as were the two people in the van. The exact course of the accident was initially unclear.
In a head-on collision on federal highway 31 Weissensberg in the district of Lindau (Lake Constance), two more people lost their lives. A 40-year-old had come across oncoming traffic with his van for reasons that have not yet been explained and crashed head-on into an oncoming semi-trailer truck, the police said. He and his 38-year-old passenger were fatally injured. The driver of the van escaped with minor injuries.
Saturday night also brought frost and snowfall in many parts of Bavaria. According to the police, there were at least 91 accidents with several minor injuries on snow-slick roads. Overall, the accidents resulted in damage of more than 400,000 euros.

On the Autobahn 94 near Munich it cracked six times. In one case, a 19-year-old drove his car head-on into a police car, the police reported. The officers were just securing the scene of an accident and were slightly injured.
