SNCF has warned that traffic will be “severely disrupted”. On the RATP side, almost all the lines of the Paris metro will be “very disrupted” and one in two RER will run on lines A and B. The FO-RATP union, the first among metro drivers, had called for Thursday “a black day” in transport after the outbreak of 49.3 by the government last Thursday.
Half of the trains will run
According to several union sources, the declaration of intent rate reached 35% at the SNCF on the eve of the new interprofessional strike. As a result, SNCF will only be able to run half of its TGV Inoui and Ouigo and a third of its TER on Thursday, the group announced on Wednesday.
In the Paris region, traffic will also be “very severely disrupted” with 20% to 50% of trains maintained, depending on the RER lines. No Intercités train will run with the exception of two round trips Paris-Clermont and Paris-Brive.
The most affected RER E
The most affected line of the RER is the E with only one train in five planned. There will only be a third of the trains on the RER C, as on lines H, J, L, N, P and U of the Transilien.
The RER D and line R will also be slowing down with only 40% of the usual traffic. Finally, half of the trains will run on the RER A and B lines as well as on the K line. On Friday, traffic should remain “disturbed” in Ile-de-France, said the SNCF.
Severely disrupted traffic in the Paris metro
In Paris, only the automated lines (1 and 14) will run normally, while the others will run at variable times during the day, with frequencies between one train in two or three. Some stations will also be closed.
Only lines 7, 7bis and 9, among the non-automated lines, will be open at the usual times, but with one in two trains. All other lines will close from 7:30 or 8 p.m. and for many will only open at peak times. Number 10 will only be open in the morning between 6:30 and 9:30. On the surface, there will be 80% of buses in circulation and 90% of trams on average.
Between 20% and 30% of flights canceled
In the air, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) is asking airlines to cancel 30% of their flights at Paris-Orly and 20% at other airports due to the air traffic controllers’ strike, announced this administration to AFP on Wednesday.
