For 25 years, the company Skytrax has been organizing the “World Airline Awards”. They are considered independent and the “Oscars of the airline industry”. The awards provide answers to questions such as: Which airline has the best service, tastiest food and most comfortable seats? This year, travelers from over 100 countries once again voted for the best airline for themselves – from over 350 airlines.
The company, which specializes in aviation and consumer issues, has been conducting the surveys regularly since 1999. In addition to the “Best Airline” category, other points are also evaluated: total price for the best accommodation, best seats, best lounges or best onboard guest seat in the cabin.
These are the best airlines
In 2024, the list of the best airlines will be led mainly by companies from Arabia and Asia, as in previous years. But there have also been interesting changes: Qatar Airways (second place last year) and Singapore Airlines (first place last year) swapped places at the top. Cathay Pacific Airways, based in Hong Kong, jumped from eighth to fifth place. An airline from Switzerland also scored points this year: Swiss International Air Lines jumped to tenth place (from twelfth place).

Flying with Lufthansa will be more expensive from 2025 – for the sake of the environment
The 2024 winner, Qatar Airways, was not only voted the best airline in the world, but also received the awards for “World’s Best Business Class”, “World’s Best Business Class Lounge” and as the best airline in the Middle East. Lufthansa was able to improve slightly, from 21st place in 2023 to 18th place this year. RyanAir only managed to reach 63rd place (2023: 68).
