Ski jumping: Granerud wins the Four Hills Tournament – Sport

Halvor Egner Granerud won the 71st Four Hills Tournament of ski jumping. With attempts at 139.5 and 143.5 meters, the Norwegian also won the Epiphany competition in Bischofshofen on Friday, keeping his Polish pursuer Dawid Kubacki at a distance. Kubacki took second place in the overall ranking of the traditional event. The overall podium was completed by the Slovenian Anze Lanisek, who finished second in the daily standings ahead of Kubacki (third). The trio had dominated the entire tour.

As in Innsbruck, things went badly for Germany’s jumpers. The best athlete was Philipp Raimund (136 and 135.5 meters) in twelfth place. After jumps of 131.5 and 130 meters, Andreas Wellinger fell out of the top ten in the overall standings. For team world champion Karl Geiger (23rd on Friday), the topic of the overall ranking was already over after the qualifying round in Innsbruck. As in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Markus Eisenbichler was eliminated in the first round, this time in 31st place.
