Michael Schulte made fourth place in 2018. The singer is positive about the German contribution to the Eurovision Song Contest this year.

The German ESC candidate from 2018, Michael Schulte, expects the German entry to do well in the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday. “I think Lord of the Lost will have better chances than our acts of the past few years. I think you have to stand out,” said Schulte of the German Press Agency. Most of the audience heard the 26 songs for the first time on Saturday and in the end only one or two acts stuck in their heads. “Either it’s, like me, a very emotional and calm ballad with good lyrics or something ultra loud and colourful. Something has to stick.”

The 33-year-old from Schleswig-Holstein made fourth place in the Eurovision Song Contest five years ago with the song “You Let Me Walk Alone”, which he dedicated to his late father.

This year, Lord of the Lost (“Blood & Glitter”) is a visually striking rock band for Germany. The final of the 67th ESC will be broadcast live from Liverpool on Saturday from 9 p.m. on the first channel.
