Islam in Bavaria

“The muezzin call is not about propaganda”
In Cologne a muezzin has recently been calling for Friday prayer. Would that also be conceivable in Bavaria? Wherever the idea is thought about, the opponents are immediately on the spot. And the CSU? Better to stay out of the debate.

A model project started in Cologne at the end of the first week of October. The city’s mosques are now allowed to invite to prayer on Friday afternoon with the call of the muezzin – initially for the next two years. Under strict conditions, the mosque communities can let out the call to prayer for a few minutes between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. There are also many Muslim associations and mosques in Bavaria. Should the Cologne model be a role model for the Free State?
