A little later, the senior became suspicious and turned to the right police. Unfortunately, they had to confirm the suspicion: the call was probably made from a call center operated by a fraudulent organization. A caller initially posed as the pensioner’s grandson and claimed that he had caused a fatal accident and now needs money for bail. Then a woman came on the line, posing as an employee of the public prosecutor’s office and confirming the alleged incident. She demanded cash or jewelry to prevent the alleged grandson’s imprisonment.
