Shannen Doherty shares her battle with cancer and reveals her radiotherapy sessions

HEALTH – Sharing a painful daily life. Actress Shannen Doherty, best known for her roles in Beverly Hills 90210, Charmed, gave news of his state of health. And the news is not good. The star discovered in The Little House On The Prairiewho revealed that her breast cancer relapsed in 2020, three years after its remission, announced that the disease had reached a new stage earlier this year.

“On January 5, my CT scan (X-ray, editor’s note) showed that I had metastases in the brain”she said while sharing the video of one of her radiotherapy sessions which began on January 12.

Images that show the arduousness of the treatment process. Tears streaming down the corner of her eyes, features tense, Shannen Doherty appears with her face three-quarters covered, a stick between her teeth, bathed in red light. In another video, she can be seen lying down, listening to the medical staff explain to her how her treatment was going to be.

Radiotherapy is used against metastases, tumors formed from cancer cells detached from a first tumour, the one she had in her breast, and which have migrated to another part of the body, here the brain.

” My fear is obvious. I’m extremely claustrophobic and a lot is going on in my life right now. I am lucky to be surrounded by excellent doctors and the incredible technicians at Cedars-Sinai (Beverly Hills Medical Center, editor’s note). But this fear…this turmoil…this timing…this is what cancer looks like “, she wrote on Tuesday, June 6.

It was in 2015 that she first announced that she was battling cancer. Two years later, she was revealed to be in remission, before relapsing in 2020.
