The German Weather Service (DWD) expects heavy, continuous rain for next weekend for large parts of BavariaBaden-Württemberg and the greater Munich area. The DWD issued a severe weather warning level 3 (out of 4) on Thursday around midday. Rainfall amounts of between 50 and 90 litres per square metre are expected for the Munich area. They are expected to fall in the night from Friday to Saturday around midnight until Saturday midday.
The DWD sees a “danger to life and limb” and warns in particular of flooded streets and underpasses. Cellars that may be flooded should be avoided or at least left immediately, obstructions on the roads are to be expected, and behavior in traffic should be adjusted.
