“Sesame Street” regularly comes up with high-ranking guest stars. Now pop star Lizzo was visiting the children’s show – and played a very special flute.

The American Lizzo is not only one of the hottest pop singers of the present. She is also an excellent flute player, which she repeatedly demonstrates on her records and live concerts.

This week, the 34-year-old was a guest on “Sesame Street,” the original “Sesame Street.” There, the Detroit native was also able to demonstrate her musical skills – albeit with a very special instrument: Elmo gave Lizzo a flute made of biscuits. “The one and only cookie flute for the one and only, Lizzo,” as it says on Twitter. The musician confessed that she had played many instruments before, but had never played a biscuit flute before.

Nevertheless, she tried, and – thanks to playback – produced amazing sounds. However, in doing so, she attracted another resident of Sesame Street: the Cookie Monster. The shaggy creature also wanted to try his luck. “I didn’t even know you played the flute,” Lizzo said, but willingly handed over the instrument.

A mistake: Because the cookie monster admitted that it really couldn’t play at all – and devoured the cookie whistle in a few seconds. “That was the only cookie whistle,” Lizzo objected. “I know,” replied the monster. “How could I not have eaten them? What an honor!” Then the cookie monster played a few bars of air flute and everyone was happy.

But Elmo also got something for free: Lizzo handed the red monster a bottle of balsamic vinegar. “I know that’s a difficult word for you,” said the musician. That’s why she wanted to find out if he could pronounce it now. And Elmo can: “balsamic vinegar,” he exclaimed happily when he saw the bottle.

No cookie monster appeared to destroy the vinegar. And so the story has a happy ending.
