They were considered the most famous couple in the opera world. The soprano and the tenor were known for their joint performances and luxury fashion. Despite the end of their relationship, there was no complete break.

The star soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Yusif Eyvazov are going their separate ways. “After ten happy years together, we have made the difficult but friendly decision to separate,” the prominent opera couple announced on Wednesday.

Netrebko, who comes from Russia and also holds an Austrian passport, married Eyvazov from Azerbaijan in 2015. The two not only often shared the stage, but also a penchant for extravagant luxury fashion.

Netrebko and Eyvazov announced that they would continue to maintain their friendship and perform together. They also emphasized their mutual love for Tiago, Netrebko’s son from her previous relationship with bass-baritone Erwin Schrott.
