Paris and its little crown
The Paris police headquarters confirmed in a press release published this Sunday the arrest of 234 people for common law offenses in the capital and in the inner suburbs. For this New Year’s Eve, 5,400 police and gendarmes were mobilized in this vast perimeter.

In detail, nine individuals were arrested in the 7e district of Paris for participating in a group formed to commit violence.
In Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), six people were arrested, including two young people aged 12, after an attack with fireworks against the police. Four vehicles were also set on fire in the city during this New Year’s Eve.
Strasbourg
In Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin), 40 people were arrested, mainly for possession of fireworks mortars and 57 vehicles were set on fire.
Three gendarmes and a policeman were slightly injured in the city.
Nantes
In Nantes (Loire-Atlantique), 11 arrests were totaled during New Year’s Eve. At the same time, 19 cars were destroyed by the flames.
Istres
In Istres (Bouches-du-Rhône), five people were arrested on the grounds of damage to vehicles by fire during the night from Saturday to Sunday.
Toulouse
Wanting to flee at the sight of the police, a man hit a policeman in the tibia and ankle with his scooter in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), before being arrested.
Metz
At the administrative detention center in Metz (Moselle), a riot broke out around 5:30 p.m., on the initiative of around 80 individuals. They set fire to mattresses and tore up cobblestones from the yard. Three of them were arrested and calm returned around 8:40 p.m.
Tourcoing
This Saturday around 8 p.m., a 29-year-old woman, asking two young people to make less noise in the lobby of their building in Tourcoing (North), was hit several times in the face.
A broken nose was diagnosed for the latter and the two young people, aged 17, were arrested.
