Sébastien Thoen back on Canal + almost three years after being fired?

Sébastien Thoen would return to Canal+ at the start of the school year, almost three years after being fired. It is not yet known what this future project would consist of. The information was revealed by our colleagues from Parisian, who are affirmative. The interested party did not confirm it with 20 minutes who tried to contact him. “The guy from Parisian got packed. (…) Absolutely nothing is happening, ”he replied to TVMagazine which specifies that a source close to the channel confirmed that “discussions have indeed taken place” but that nothing has been signed for the moment.

In November 2020, the comedian was fired from the encrypted channel for participating in a parody of Time for the pros, program hosted by Pascal Praud on CNews, the news channel of the Canal+ group. “This event overwhelmed me. The explosion hallucinated me”, Sébastien Thoen confided to us last fall, when he was promoting sorrow of humor. In this book, he intended “to give [sa] truth” on the facts and his relationship with INCENT Bolloré, which he recounted with causticity.

“He may not have had the outing he deserved”

“Canal+’s program director, Gérald-Brice Viret announces to me on the wireless handset: ‘Sébastien, the sketch on Pascal Praud really raises questions… I can’t keep you on the air.’ I am in shock. That’s it: it’s over with my CDD for twenty years renewed. Farewell to the Disneyland of laughter, farewell to the Louvre of Lol, farewell to the Taj Mahal of the valve, farewell to Canal+”, he wrote in the first pages.

His dismissal caused a wave of indignation within Canal+. The signature, by some 150 employees, of a text of support for the comedian, was followed by a wave of departures (voluntary or not) in the sports department.

The group had also terminated the contract of Stéphane Guy, sports journalist and friend of Sébastien Thoen, three days after he showed his support for him on the air, declaring: ” [il] may not have had the release it deserved. Will the entertainer get the comeback he deserves?
