  • A search of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine regional council was carried out on Tuesday.
  • This is the result of an investigation opened by the national financial prosecutor, after the complaint of a former collaborator of Alain Rousset, for embezzlement of public funds.
  • The president of the region denounces in a press release “a slanderous complaint”.

A search was carried out at the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region hotel on Tuesday, announced the regional council in a press release. This search was carried out as part of a preliminary investigation opened by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) for embezzlement of public funds.

This investigation follows a complaint against X filed with the prosecutor of Bordeaux, by David Angevin, a former collaborator of the president of the region Alain Rousset (PS). Cabinet collaborator from February 2015, the year of the electoral campaign, to February 2018 as President Rousset’s “pen”, he accuses the Socialist leadership team of having “made pay with public money” for the electoral campaign, using the resources and the work of employees in the region. David Angevin then headed a regional think tank on the digital revolution, from which he was dismissed “like a dog,” he said in January 2020 after disagreements he said with politicians.

The services “were able to quickly provide all the parts requested”

In its press release this Tuesday, the region specifies that “President Rousset, immediately on the scene to welcome the investigators, assured them his full collaboration by having them assist in their research by the DGS [Directeur général des services], the DGA in charge of resources, the chief of staff, as well as the deputy director of IT services for the Region, who were able to quickly provide all the requested documents. The search ended at 3 pm.

“President Alain Rousset, wishing that all light be shed on this slanderous complaint, will continue to meet, as today, any request from the prosecutor and investigators,” the statement continued.
