Scratches in wood: tips for removing annoying marks

Watch the video: Scratches in the wood – With these simple tips you can remove the annoying marks.

A high-quality wooden floor is particularly sensitive. But something falls down or is dragged across the floor. The result: Scratches can be seen in the parquet immediately. However, repairing the damage does not always require a specialist. Plant oils can work wonders against small scratches. Simply apply some oil and rub in with a rag. Alternatively, walnuts are helpful because the nut releases a natural fat. To do this, remove the shell and rub the contents over the scratches. But be careful: walnuts and oils can stain. So make sure that the bottom roughly matches the color of the nut or the oil. The so-called iron trick can help with dents and bruises. Simply fill the dent with water and hold the iron over the spot. The wood stretches and the dent disappears in the best case. But be careful: the iron should not be too hot and, above all, should not be held on the affected area for too long. If you want to make your wooden floor more resistant to abrasion marks and scratches, you should oil it twice a year. Here, however, oils from the household should not be used.
