Scotland after the 1:5 defeat against Germany: No party for Scotland – Sport

The cheers of the Scottish fans in the stands were no longer restrained. Tartan Army sang the eternal hit “No Scotland, no party” euphorically and the German fans fell silent for a short time in the face of the guests’ vocal power. Scotland had just written a bit of domestic football history in the 87th minute with their first tournament goal since the 1998 World Cup. The long-suffering fans had waited patiently for this moment for 26 years because the home footballers are not always particularly adept at scoring goals. And so it was fitting that no Scot scored this important goal – but rather DFB defender Antonio Rüdiger with an own goal. Rüdiger headed the ball into the German net after a free kick.
