Schubertiade at a Middle Franconian castle – Bavaria

Tenor Jan Kobow has turned his Schloss Seehaus in Markt Nordheim in central Franconia into a special center for classical music. Now a Schubertiade is coming up, played exclusively on historical fortepianos from the excellent collection of the host.

A Schubert moment already on the walk to Seehaus Castle. A pond on the left, a turquoise boat rests on the bank. Coincidence must have been the direction here, because one of the most beautiful Schubert songs, “Des Fischers Liebesglück”, sung perhaps by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau or Christian Gerhaher, catches your ear like a trout. “Only stars eavesdrop on us from afar, and bathe deep under the paths of the gliding boat. So we float blissfully, surrounded by darkness, high above the sparkling stars…” .
