Child and youth die after fire

The fire in the farmhouse was noticed early in the morning. Several residents could be saved, but for two young people any help came too late.
A child and a teenager died in a farmhouse fire in Pronstorf, Schleswig-Holstein, on Saturday. According to dpa information, these are half-siblings, a three-year-old boy and a 17-year-old.
The mother was taken to the hospital with another child. No information was immediately available about her injuries. Various media had previously reported on the death of two children.
The farmhouse was completely destroyed in the major fire, police said on Saturday. The fire was noticed early in the morning. The fire brigade rescued several injured residents and brought others to safety, it said. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.
