1-A European rocket to support the French and European defenses
A European Ariane 5 rocket put into orbit during the night from Saturday to Sunday two communications satellites, including a military one, after an unhindered takeoff from the Kourou base in French Guyana.
The rocket carried two telecommunications satellites: SES-17, owned by the Luxembourg group SES, and Syracuse 4A, a military telecommunications satellite developed for the French Ministry of the Armed Forces, both built by Thales Alenia Space.
Syracuse 4A must in particular allow the French armies to remain permanently connected during their deployments. With an anti-jamming antenna and an on-board digital processor, it aims to support NATO and European operations.
2-Colombia arrests one of the most powerful drug traffickers in the country
Colombia has just dealt a blow to organized crime. The country’s most wanted drug trafficker, Dairo Antonio Usuga, known as “Otoniel”, has been captured in northwestern Colombia,
“Special recognition to the security forces (…) for the capture in Necocli of Dairo Antonio Usuga, alias“ Otoniel ”, senior leader of the Clan del Golfo”, congratulated Emilio Archila, adviser to President Ivan Duque on Twitter. Colombia is the world’s largest exporter of cocaine.
In view of the extent of his traffic, Otoniel was not only of interest to his country. The United States had thus offered a reward of 5 million dollars for his capture. The drug trafficker was arrested in Necocli, one of the main strongholds of Clan del Golfo, near the border with Panama.
3-The Taliban offer wheat in exchange for public works
The Taliban government in power in Afghanistan since August 2021 on Sunday launched a program to give wheat in exchange for work to tens of thousands of men to fight hunger across the country. Since the takeover of the country by the Taliban, the humanitarian situation there has been catastrophic.
In Kabul, 40,000 jobs will thus be offered to men, for example to dig canals and trenches to collect water and snow in order to fight against the lack of water.
For two months, 11,600 tons of wheat must be distributed as wages in the capital and 55,000 in other large cities of the country such as Herat, Jalalabad or Kandahar.
4-Relatives of the director of photography killed on a shoot in the United States express their pain
“Our loss is immense”. Matt Hutchins reacted to the death of his wife Halyna Hutchins on Twitter. On Thursday, American actor Alec Baldwin activated a gun used as a prop on the set of Rust, killing the film’s cinematographer and injuring its director.
“Halyna has inspired us all with her passion and vision, and her legacy is too important to be summed up in words, Matt Hutchins tweeted on Saturday.”
The American actor Alec Baldwin said he was “devastated” Friday after having killed the day before, probably accidentally the young woman on the set of a western in the American state of New Mexico.
“Words fail me to express my amazement and my sadness after the tragic accident which killed Halyna Hutchins”, wrote the comedian on Twitter, which ensures “to cooperate fully with the investigation of the police”.
5-Anne Sila is the winner of “The Voice, all stars”
Great favorite of this anniversary season, Anne Sila won, unsurprisingly, The Voice all Stars this Saturday evening.
