‘Buffy’ actress Sarah Michelle Gellar and her castmates celebrate the 25th anniversary of the drama series.

Sarah Michelle Gellar (44) and her former co-stars celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. On March 10, 1997, the popular drama series premiered and ran for seven seasons through 2003. Gellar posted on the occasion a review on Instagram while also thanking their fans.

It was a great honor for the actress to introduce her version of Buffy Anne Summers to the world. Although the conditions for the series were bad, the fans were there. “You believed in us. You made this possible. You are the reason why we are still celebrating 25 years later. That’s why we celebrate you today,” writes the actress.

David Boreanaz (53) also thanks with a post among the fans of the series. “An Angel was born 25 years ago when he was 245 years old. We’re celebrating 25 years and saying ‘Thank you!’ to all the fans,” writes the Angel actor.

Michelle Trachtenberg (36) played Buffy’s little sister Dawn Summers in the series. Although she only joined in season five, she congratulates her series colleague and friend in her post: “Happy 25th anniversary of the premiere of your show”. She has known her “big sister” for almost 30 years. The shirt in the picture would have gotten the “Gossip Girl” star from Gellar. She responded to the touching post with “I love you, little sister”.

Charisma Carpenter (51) portrayed Cordelia Chase. In her post she shared that it’s “hardly possible” that Buffy premiered 25 years ago. “Buffy was a big part of my life as well as the entire cast and crew,” she wrote. The star said she was happy to be part of something special that seems to live on to this day. “Happy Buffy Anniversary to everyone celebrating. I’m grateful.”

Nicholas Brendon (50), who portrayed Xander Harris, also celebrated the occasion on social media. “Today is the big day!” he wrote, tagging the post 5YearsofBuffy.

His former colleague James Marsters (59) also remembers on Instagram to “Buffy”. The British vampire Spike actor still wonders, “What would Buffy do?”
