In her encounter with Alice Weidel, Sahra Wagenknecht proves that she is the author, director and leading actress of her own BSW production. A warning to all politicians.
If you’ve been involved with feminism for long enough, you’ll be grateful for even small progress. A speech duel between two top politicians in which the fact that they are women is not discussed for a second and which does not even touch on the topics commonly associated with it in passing would not have been imaginable just a few years ago. In feminist dreams, these women would probably compete for blooming visions of the future. But because fate is a beast, they are instead darkly courting the same clientele who are dissatisfied with the Federal Republic of Germany: BSW boss Sahra Wagenknecht and Alice Weidel, the AfD’s candidate for chancellor.
