A defective signal on the Munich S-Bahn trunk line caused massive problems in local transport in the state capital on Thursday morning in the middle of the rush hour. According to Deutsche Bahn, the main route was closed from shortly after 6.30 a.m. Trains had to turn around early or bypass the route. The Munich transport company (MVG) also warned of delays in other means of transport, which were particularly affected by the blocking of the main route.
According to Bahn, the disruption at the Ostbahnhof was fixed around 9:15 a.m. However, the railways assumed that the disruption would have repercussions for some time and that there would be further delays.
