People in Crimea commemorate 2014 annexation

Three dead reported in the Kherson region
Three people are said to have been killed by Russian shelling in the Kherson region in the past 24 hours. Five people were injured, writes the “Kyiv Independent”, citing the Ukrainian military administration.

Ukraine defends river Bakhmutka in Bakhmut
In the past four days, the Russian mercenary force Wagner has taken the east of the bitterly contested Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, according to British information. The Bakhmutka River, which flows through the city center, is now the front line, the Ministry of Defense in London said in a tweet. The west, on the other hand, is still held by the Ukrainian army, and important bridges across the river have been destroyed.
Accordingly, there is a strip of open terrain that is between 200 and 800 meters wide. This “death zone” could be shelled by Ukrainian forces from fortified positions. It was “very challenging” for the Wagner fighters to continue the frontal attack to the west.

German extremists are fighting in Ukraine
According to German security authorities, at least 29 extremists and politically motivated criminals from Germany have taken part in fighting in Ukraine. The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution did not say which war party the extremists had joined, with reference to secrecy, as the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” reports.
A total of 61 extremists and politically motivated criminals are said to have left Germany for the war zone, but they did not necessarily take part in combat operations. According to the Federal Police, 31 people came from the right spectrum, 24 are assigned to the area of ”foreign ideology/extremism”. In addition, there were individual cases of religious and other ideologies, as well as a departure from the left spectrum. Overall, around half of the 61 people are said to be in Ukraine.

Zelenskyj thanks Norway
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Norway for their support. Oslo is setting an example with $7 billion (about 6.5 billion euros) over the next five years, Zelenskyj said in a video message after a meeting with Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram in Kiev.
Other countries should take Norway as an example, Zelenskyy said. Gram said Norway respects Ukraine’s defense struggle and the victims.

Ukraine is again exporting a lot of oilseeds
