Only on Thursday did Russia launch a massive missile attack on Ukraine’s infrastructure. Drone attacks followed during the night. But the air defense was apparently successful.

According to the authorities, the Ukrainian air defense repelled drone attacks in and around Kyiv and in the east of the country on Friday night. “Russia has again aimed at our infrastructure objects,” said the military governor of the Kiev region, Oleksiy Kuleba, on his Telegram channel on Friday. According to him, the air defense shot down the drones. There was no damage.

The city administration in Kyiv also reported that the night attack was largely mild. Five drones were shot down over the capital. An administration building was partially destroyed and the windows of a residential building were damaged. There were no reports of dead or injured.

“For the second night in a row, our sky protectors eliminated all five enemy “Shahed” (drones) that were over the area,” said the military governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region around the city of Dnipro, Valentyn Resnichenko, on his Telegram channel. Accordingly, there were attacks in three different counties. According to the Ukrainian Army’s Task Force East, all attacking drones were also destroyed in the neighboring Zaporizhia region.

Only on Thursday did Russia launch another massive rocket attack to paralyze the critical infrastructure for Ukraine’s energy supply. Since October, Moscow has been using this tactic to shoot the war-weary population of the neighboring country.
