A rumor “unfounded” for the rectorate of Strasbourg. In recent days, the rumor of the death of two adolescents in Strasbourg after being vaccinated against Covid-19 has been circulating on social networks. The rumor is said to have spread during a demonstration, and is also spreading on the Internet.
According to the versions, the two young people would be educated in a high school in the Alsatian capital – without the name of the establishment being known – or they would be students of the Foch college. They are said to be 14 and 16 years old and would have died at the Hautepierre hospital center, the main hospital in Strasbourg.
Rumor has it that the families could not testify because the prosecutor “quarantined” them and “forbade them to communicate”.

The Hautepierre CHRU denies these rumors: “There has been no such intra-hospital pediatric death”, explains the hospital to 20 minutes. “For us, these elements are unfounded”, adds the rectorate of the Academy of Strasbourg, on which the schools of the Alsatian capital depend.
“To our knowledge, no student at the Strasbourg academy has died, nor has even suffered significant effects related to vaccination, details the rectorate. The academy receives daily updates about vaccination in schools in order to report any difficulty, in addition to the figures relating to the campaign. To date, no feedback has reported negative effects on students. “
The vaccination campaign in Foch college has not yet started.
At the time of publication of these lines, the Strasbourg prosecutor had not responded to our requests. However, a quarantine is decided by the prefect, on the proposal of the director general of the regional health agency, and not by a prosecutor. In addition, this measure can only be decided if a medical certificate certifies that the person is infected with Covid-19.
