Rummenigge told the TV broadcaster Bild on Sunday: “I am convinced that he has also announced that he may soon be vaccinated. As a role model, but also as a fact, it would be better if he were vaccinated.”
After the 4-0 win in the Bundesliga against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Saturday, Kimmich admitted on Sky that he had not yet had a vaccination against Corona. He thinks it is a shame that there is “only vaccinated or not vaccinated” in the debate, said Kimmich. “And not vaccinated often means that you are a corona denier or an opponent of vaccinations.” In March 2020, Kimmich and his Bayern colleague Leon Goretzka launched the “We Kick Corona” campaign, with which they collect donations for social institutions.
