The streaming platform RTL+ is expanding its range by a whole genre: in the future there will also be podcasts – such as the second season of “Cui bono” about “Drachenlord” Rainer Winkler or “Bratwurst & Baklava” with the comedians Bastian Bielendorfer and Özcan Cosar.

The streaming service RTL+ is expanding its range to include podcasts. The portfolio of the AUDIO NOW platform, which belongs to RTL Deutschland, will be part of the free RTL+ offer. Starting on November 15, the RTL+ Musik podcast range will include thousands of formats, including around 200 in-house productions by RTL’s Audio Alliance production unit, and will be significantly expanded in the coming months with further exclusive new releases.

“Cui Bono” to the “Dragon Lord” Rainer Winkler

This includes, for example, the multi-award-winning podcast “Cui Bono”. The second season is dedicated to ex-Youtuber Rainer Winkler, whose videos as “Dragon Lord” led to reactions of hatred and meanness. He has since been sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence for assault. The podcast also addresses the question of who is actually the victim and who is the perpetrator in the “Dragon Lord” case. “Cui Bono: Who’s Afraid of the Dragon Lord?” The first four episodes will be available exclusively on RTL+ Musik from November 17th.

In “Bratwurst & Baklava” (from November 16th, each new episode in advance exclusively only on RTL+ Musik), comedians Bastian Bielendorfer and Özcan Cosar superimpose their lives on a weekly basis.

Expansion of RTL+ with podcasts

“The launch of RTL+ Music in August was an important milestone in the development of RTL+ into a comprehensive entertainment offering. With the integration of the podcasts, we are now taking the next big step and are continuing to expand RTL+,” says Eva Messerschmidt, Co-Chief Streaming Officer RTL Germany.

With around 3.7 million subscribers, RTL+ is the leading German streaming service. RTL+ is gradually being expanded into a comprehensive cross-media offering. Podcasts are available free of charge on RTL+ Musik.

Note on transparency: Stern and stern.de, like RTL+, belong to RTL Germany.
