Royal expert believes Prince Harry’s return to the royal family is possible
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have turned their backs on the British royal family – and now live in the United States. A former butler to King Charles III. is now giving hope for a comeback by Prince Harry in the royal family.
A former butler to King Charles III. (74) considers it “probable” that Prince Harry (38) and his wife Duchess Meghan (41) will return to Great Britain at some point. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had stepped down as working members of the royal family in 2020. They now live with their two children Archie (4) and Lilibet (1) in Montecito, California.
Grant Harrold, 45, who worked as Charles’ butler from 2004 to 2011 when he was Prince of Wales, believes a return to Harry’s homeland is a “likely step” in the future for the Sussexes. He told the New York Post: “I would never say never.” It’s always possible that Harry might want to come home one day, it’s possible he’ll buy a property there if he wants to visit more often and Meghan doesn’t come with him, Harrold speculates in the paper.
Prince Harry will always be a royal
He added that Meghan, who hails from Los Angeles and worked as an actress before marrying Harry, has no family in the UK, according to the report. Her whole family lives in the USA. But Prince Harry will “always have a connection to the United Kingdom” and will “never want to give it up completely,” says the royal expert.
Whether Harry and Meghan would be welcomed with open arms in the UK after their serious allegations against the royal family is another matter. Still, Harrold thinks moving the family back to the UK is still “very likely”. Even if they seem happy in the US at the moment.
Tense mood in the royal family
At the beginning of the year it became known that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan had to vacate their previous property in England. King Charles is said to be planning to hand over Frogmore Cottage in Windsor to Prince Andrew (63).
Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family is considered broken. In a Netflix documentary and in the prince’s autobiography, the two had made serious allegations against the royals. In his book “Reserve”, Harry claims, among other things, that his brother, heir to the throne Prince William (40), physically attacked him and threw him to the ground.
He had also attacked his stepmother, Queen Camilla (75). Nevertheless, according to British media reports, King Charles is said to have been happy that Harry appeared at the coronation on May 6th. However, the 38-year-old traveled back to the United States immediately after the ceremony.
