Rothenburg: Why foreign tourists are attracted to the crime museum – Bavaria

Foreign tourists do not find the German Museum, Checkpoint Charlie or the Green Vault most appealing – but rather the Medieval Crime Museum in a town in western Central Franconia. Why not?

Last summer, the experts from the German National Tourist Board asked on their online portal which German museums were most appealing to foreign visitors. And all sorts of things would come to mind: maybe one of the Munich houses, the Pinakothek, the German Museum? Or one of the big museums in Dresden, the Green Vault, the picture gallery? Of course, it could also come down to the Schirn in Frankfurt, the Ludwig Museum in Cologne, the Kunsthalle in Hamburg, or something like the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen. Or, of course, one of the major destinations in the capital: Museum Island or the Wall Museum at Checkpoint Charlie.
