Rosenheim – art in the middle of the city – Ebersberg

The artist Julia Benz has now opened the “Transit Art Festival” in Rosenheim: The Berliner created an energetic color cosmos called “Golden Yellow” on Rathausstrasse 30 in just four days. Located on one of the central traffic arteries that lead into the Rosenheim city center, its abstract mural with rich colors now sets an invigorating accent on the former health and citizens’ office and at the same time blends harmoniously into the surroundings. This is by no means coincidental: “In my work I always include the environment, because after all, this is a core element of Street Art. It does not stand for itself, but lives from the connection to public space and everything that immediately surrounds it” , so Benz.

At the festival, which the Städtische Galerie Rosenheim organizes in cooperation with the Volksbank Raiffeisenbank, this year, besides Benz, the ATE crew (Würzburg), Daniel Westermeier alias Mr. Woodland (Erding), GERA1 (Athens) as well as Sabrina Alice Cultrona, Stella Brandlhuber and Elias Brader from Rosenheim. From Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 24, they will all design additional walls within the city center (underpass at the Mangfall Bridge, Dr. Geiger Strasse 1, Reichenbachstrasse 8, Kufsteiner Strasse 55). So keep your eyes open, because the festival week offers the opportunity to get to know the artists personally and to experience live the very different techniques with which they create their works on the wall. Questions and thoughts can be exchanged on the spot with the artists themselves and of course with other passers-by. The Transit Art Festival wants to set an example – for high-quality, contemporary art in the middle of the city.
