The former frontman of the band Queen, Freddie Mercury, has long been dead. But his voice can be heard again in a song.

The British rock band Queen released a song with the voice of their singer Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991, for the first time in eight years. “Face It Alone” was recorded in 1988 and was supposed to appear on the album “The Miracle”. But it never came to that.

Now the song has been rediscovered and is set to be released as a single. It was to be played publicly for the first time on Thursday on BBC 2 radio.

Most recently, the band released several previously unknown Mercury songs on their 2014 album Forever. “It’s great to hear all four of us after all these years,” Queen guitarist Brian May said of the rediscovered song, according to the British news agency PA. Drummer Roger Taylor described the piece as a “little gem” that was almost forgotten.
