Robert Morse has died at the age of 90. The actor is best known to TV fans as Bertram Cooper from the television series “Mad Men”.

Actor Robert Morse died last Wednesday (April 20) at the age of 90. His son confirmed this to ABC and his good friend Larry Karaszewski (60) at Twitter. Among other things, the screenwriter wrote in his tweet sharing photos with Morse: “A huge talent and a wonderful spirit. Sending love to his son Charlie and daughter Allyn. Had so much fun with Bobby over the years. “

Success on Broadway and TV

Robert Morse was born in Newton, Massachusetts in 1931 and began acting in high school. He got his first film role in 1956. With the musical comedy “How to be successful without trying too hard” he gained greater fame in 1961 on Broadway. He received a Tony Award for the role of J. Pierrepont Finch, which he also played in the 1967 film of the same name.

He picked up his second trophy in 1990 with the role of Truman Capote in “Tru”. He also played this character in a film adaptation, which earned him an Emmy award. Morse is best known to television audiences as Bertram Cooper, senior partner in an advertising agency, on the series Mad Men (2007-2015), for which he received multiple Emmy nominations. Morse was last seen in the series “American Crime Story” in 2016.
