Reusable periodic protection will be reimbursed from 2024 for those under 25

Guest of the program “C à vous” this Monday, Elisabeth Borne announced the reimbursement, from next year, of reusable periodic protection. The Prime Minister clarified that it will be necessary to buy them in pharmacies “to be reimbursed by Social Security”. No prescription will be necessary.

In December 2020, the government announced that it would increase the budget devoted to the fight against menstrual poverty to 5 million euros. A sum in particular intended to help imprisoned women, the homeless and all those in precarious situations, including in colleges and high schools. According to the association Rules Elementary, 1.7 million women are victims of menstrual precariousness in France.
