Avoiding waste and conserving raw materials – that is the motto of the “Schwungrad Ebersberg” association, which regularly invites people to its Repair Café. Last weekend, numerous hobbyists and inventors met again in the district town to breathe new life into old things. For example, Jürgen Friedrichs from the General German Bicycle Club, who, together with his son Leo, has made a recumbent bike fit for the upcoming spring tours.
However, if you consider yourself to be too clumsy in terms of craftsmanship to bring your outdated devices back into shape, you don’t have to worry. Volunteers from a wide range of professions help with the repairs with specialist knowledge and tools. The aim is to put the “patient” back in order together, as the association says. Incidentally, its members not only provide support with the repair itself, but also with the procurement of spare parts.
