For this second part of the matches of the 2nd day of the Europa League, Rennes hosted Fenerbahçe for a match that promised to be interesting and balanced on paper. On one side the formation of Bruno Genesio with Amine Gouiri surrounded by Terrier and Bourigeaud. On the other an experienced Turkish team with Michy Batshuayi in particular on the attacking front. And the start of the game was marked by the domination of Fenerbahçe who got a few chances. Rennes, in place in the middle, did not particularly manage to be more effective in front with fairly isolated attackers. And the two teams returned to the locker room back to back. Logic.

But when they returned from the locker room, the Rennais were transformed and the match was totally carried away. Well served by Lovro Majer, Martin Terrier appeared alone against the goalkeeper and quietly opened the scoring (1-0, 52nd). What ignite the stadium and the meeting. A minute later, the setter became a scorer and the scorer turned into a setter. Terrier served Majer perfectly who eliminated the Turkish goalkeeper and made the break (2-0, 54th). In the process, Rennes got a multitude of opportunities, but did not kill the match. And Fenerbahçe miraculously returned to the game thanks to a jewel from Kahveci. The Turkish striker sent a missile from the left into Mandanda’s cage and gave hope to his team (1-2, 60th). But after a calmer period after the goal, the end of the match looked more than tense with the exclusion for a nasty gesture by Hamari Troaré (83rd). And what had to happen happened. By dint of pushing, Fenerbahçe got a penalty in the last moments. Ener Valencia transformed it without shaking (2-2, 90th + 3). After leading 2-0, Rennes therefore wastes a great opportunity to take the lead of his group alone and therefore obtains a small point.

Roma also provides

In superiority almost the entire match, the men of José Mourinho still had to wait for the second period to finally take the advantage. Dybala, Belotti and Pellegrini are the evening Roman scorers. Betis Sevilla, without Nabil Fekir, snatched a precious success against Ludogrets (3-2) thanks in particular to the inexhaustible Joaquin (41) still a scorer.

For their part, Braga obtained a short but precious victory against Union Berlin. Same story for Larnaca which surprises Dynamo kyiv outside (0-1).
