The current “Witt Study” by the Rheingold Institute shows that the 50+ generation lives more independently, freely, and emancipated – but also less binding and uncompromisingly than previous middle-aged representatives. More than a thousand Germans answered online surveys and in individual interviews about what a partnership means to them. Six typical relationship patterns emerged.
The Keepers
They want to maintain familiar structures and stay in old bonds. Stable relationships and reliable friends, loyalty in the relationship, but also rituals and continuity are important to them. In doing so, they often cling and remain stuck in old patterns.
