After tough Corona years, the fitness industry sees itself on the upswing again. The turning point was reached in 2022, said Thomas Wessinghage, head of the German employers’ association for the fitness industry (DSSV), at the Fibo fitness fair in Cologne. The industry made 4.9 billion euros in sales last year. It is hoped that the figures from 2019 will be reached again by the end of 2023. At the end of 2022, around 9,150 fitness studios nationwide had 10.3 million members, one million more than in the previous year.
