Recipes from the low-budget kitchen – from oriental lentil rice to cabbage noodles

Eating delicious is one thing, eating healthy is another, and eating cheap is another story in itself. Getting all three under one roof is not that easy. Bettina Matthanaei is a professional at it. Healthy, low-budget cuisine is her specialty. With her latest cookbook, she shows that cheap meals can be good.

Whether breakfast or spreads, salads, soups or main dishes, no recipe in the book costs more than two euros. This is the concept of “Recipes under 2 euros”. However, the calculations were based on purchase prices from autumn 2022. Meat is out of the running with this budget. That can’t be good at the price, says Matthanaei. Therefore all dishes are vegetarian.

Healthy dishes with a creative kick
