Real Madrid: Belgian second division team lures Eden Hazard

An old friend brings up real-star Eden Hazard engagements in Turkey and Belgium.

The Belgian second division KVC Westerlo has faint hopes for the signing of Real Madrid midfield star Eden Hazard. Westerlos sports director Hasan Cetinkaya has known the Belgian for a long time and in an interview Het Nieuwsblad he spoke about a possible engagement of the 30-year-old with his club.

Cetinkaya said: “He once promised me that one day he would like to play for Fenerbahce. Getting him to Westerlo would be even more difficult, but you never know. He could come and end his career here.”

Westerlo belongs to the Turkish businessman Oktay Ercan and is currently ten points ahead of the top of the Belgian second division.

Real Madrid: Eden Hazard is under contract until 2024

Hazard and Cetinkaya, who also works as a player’s agent, first ran into each other when the offensive star was still playing for Lille in France. “I think I can call Eden Hazard my friend,” he said.

Regarding a hazard change to the traditional Turkish club Fenerbahce, Cetinkaya had already said in 2019 at Ajansspor: “He had incredible sympathy for Fenerbahce and gave me his word: ‘Hasan, one day I’ll play for Fenerbahce. I just don’t know when it will be.'”

Hazard is currently under contract with Real until 2024. He moved there in 2019 for a € 115 million transfer fee from Chelsea, but was repeatedly thrown back from injuries

Currently he has lost his regular place to the strong Vinicius Junior. Hazard played eleven competitive games this season, none of them over the full distance.
