Real estate in East Germany: How have prices changed? – Business

Helmar Krüger wants to leave. Better today than tomorrow and preferably right out of town. The 43-year-old Berliner has just become a father for the second time. And now his 2.5 room apartment with 60 square meters is bursting at the seams. But there is no bigger apartment in Berlin. At least not for Krüger, who works hard as a cook, but the sole wage earner cannot raise a basic rent of more than 700 euros with his wages. His real name is actually different, but he would rather not publish his real name.
