Ravenous Snake: Python Eats Alligator – In One Piece (Video)

The Burmese python or Burmese python is one of the largest snakes in the world. It is well known that snakes stop at little when it comes to satisfying their hunger. But what the scientists of a research laboratory in Florida get out of this 5.50 meter long specimen is not exactly an everyday sight. Because lo and behold. When the researchers cut open the reptile to reveal the contents of its intestines, a 1.5 meter long alligator appeared. The python had strangled the alligator and swallowed it whole. Burmese pythons are being euthanized in Florida as an invasive species. This python was euthanized and given to a research lab for necropsy and scientific sampling. This process is shown in this video posted on Instagram by US scientist Rosie Moore. Because of South Florida’s subtropical environment, coupled with Burmese pythons’ long lifespan and rapid reproduction rate, these snakes are a threat to native wildlife in Florida’s wildlife.
