Loveparade founder Dr. Motte again brings hundreds of thousands to the streets of the federal capital – it should not have been the last time.

After the giant rave with an estimated 200,000 people at the weekend, the organizers of “Rave The Planet” are considering continuing next year. The planning for this should begin soon, it said in a statement. They estimated the number of participants to be significantly higher than the police. They put it at around 300,000.

The techno spectacle by Loveparade founder Dr. On Saturday, Motte had attracted around ten times as many people as were registered for the demonstration. They celebrated and danced for hours alongside 18 music floats on a route from the west of the city center past Potsdamer Platz and the Brandenburg Gate to the Victory Column.

The police had said on Sunday that the move was “largely trouble-free”. In the end, however, the Straße des 17. Juni became so crowded that “dangerous situations” arose. The organizers announced that “to the best of our knowledge, there were no incidents that posed a particular risk or caused serious injury to participants.”

In addition, the organizers commented on the so-called Freedom Parade of “lateral thinkers”: “However, we emphatically distance ourselves from the content and demands of this movement, which has obviously made an inept attempt to protect our peaceful demonstration and the person of Dr. To instrumentalize Motte for their purposes, »said the message.

On Sunday there was criticism, especially on Twitter, because Dr. Motte held up a Freedom Parade symbol during the parade. The DJ responded in a tweet: “I didn’t know that. I apologize.” A spokeswoman for the event said on request that there was a mix-up that Dr. Moth was “mega-embarrassing”.
