RATP is launching a historic recruitment campaign in 2023

An “unprecedented” recruitment campaign. This Monday, the RATP announced in a press release that it wanted to recruit nearly 6,600 people in Île-de-France in 2023. “This recruitment campaign […] aims to ensure the expected offer on the networks and to prepare for the major events to come: the 2023 Rugby World Cup and the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”

Highly criticized for its transport offer for several months, the Paris transport authority intends to fill its gaps with this massive hiring of new agents, among whom 4,900 will be on permanent contracts, 1,000 work-study contracts and 700 integration contracts.

2,700 new bus drivers

Main target of recruiters, bus drivers. In total, 2,700 positions will be filled, including 2,400 for Paris and the inner suburbs, which is almost double the objectives of last year (1,500). The other new agents will become station agents (700 positions), metro drivers (400 positions), mechanics (300 positions or security agents (120).

In its press release, the public establishment adds that 600 engineering and management positions are also offered “digital and cybersecurity professions, maintenance, infrastructure and industrial systems, but also operations manager positions”. .

Address service degradation

These recruitments could help the RATP solve certain problems of understaffing which have led to a deterioration in service on many metro lines.

The company should have no trouble seducing since it declares to have received nearly 91,500 CVs in 2022. For this campaign, it has set itself the objective of feminizing its workforce with its “RATP for women” program.
