Raisting – Radom covered again – Bavaria

Storm “Bianca” covered the legendary antenna more than a year and a half ago – now the listed satellite ground station Radom in Raisting am Ammersee has new protection. A crane pulled a huge shell over the antenna on Sunday. Now 320 screws would have to be anchored, then air could be blown into the envelope, said René Jakob, Managing Director of Radom Raisting GmbH. Then the white ball is perfect again. A first attempt failed on Saturday because there was too much wind. The storm low wreaked havoc in Bavaria at the end of February 2020 and also destroyed the shell. Since then, the antenna was exposed to the weather – but it was no longer functional anyway.
