Ralf, Tara and Alexander are in a car accident. You injure yourself in the process, but ultimately get off lightly. The reason for the accident: the car’s electronics failed from one moment to the next. All other devices no longer work either – smartphones, tablets, GPS transmitters … The vegetation also suddenly looks different.
It takes the three of them a while to grasp what happened. Obviously they were flung through time. They set off on foot, but Tara separates from the two men. It doesn’t take long before Alexander has disappeared too.
Individuals can even jump to a different time individually
Alexander von Lukowitz and Benjamin Quabeck raise in their four-part radio play miniseries Anti-chamber the world off its hinges. Temporal continuity and a chronology of events are no longer criteria. A global leap in time – the moment of the car accident – catapulted the whole of humanity by half a year into the future. Individual people can even jump into another time individually. Sometimes they only bridge a few days, sometimes months or years – for themselves it only takes a few seconds.
Age differences crumble, relationships become disruptive. This is what interests the two authors of this science fiction above all in the second half of their story: how people reinvent themselves as a society, detached from space and time, or simply as a family and circle of friends.
