I recently gave you a look at the new Google TV Streamer (click here for the test), the company’s new set-top box, which inherits the previous Chromecast models and does its job extremely well. However, there are currently gatherings on the internet a few reportsaccording to which there are problems here and there during the initial setup, which means that the included remote control cannot be connected correctly. The reason is simple, albeit unfortunate: the streamer simply connects to another control in the area, for example that of an NVIDIA Shield. It is currently unknown whether Google can offer a quick solution to this.
If this has also happened to you, then you either need to find out which of your other remote controls was paired incorrectly – or you can at least complete the basic setup with the wrong remote control (which should normally be easy to do) and then navigate straight away in the box settings. Under “Remote controls & accessories” you can not only see which control has actually been paired. Instead, you can manually connect the correct Google TV streamer remote control there. This works by holding down the home and back buttons on the control until the white LED starts flashing. Now click on “Connect accessories” and that should be it.
