Queerness in the Catholic Church – Culture

Interviewed by

Aurelie von Blazekovic

The BBC recently called Munich-based Wolfgang F. Rothe “Germany’s turbulent priest” in a radio interview. This is what happens when you are a Catholic priest and it becomes known that you are gay, you bless same-sex couples, you advocate the ordination of women and you have published a book in which queer people report on exclusion and devaluation in the Catholic Church. “They exist,” writes Rothe, “because God wanted and created them that way.”
